| clearly lower than in the coolant galley where I have my probe on the passenger side head. My stock gauge didn't move the entire track event, yet my Defi readout was showing over 230F. There is certainly an appreciable amount of cooling between where my gauge is and the stock location. I did this because, as you said, I wanted the worst condition for monitoring - just like your tuning to the leanest bank. Until and if I prove something drastic, I'll simply stick with ~230 as a limit, even if there is a 20F temperature drop between my sensor and the dump pipe off the block. Oddly enough, it tracks nearly perfect with the oil temp, which is what I would have expected when monitoring the stock dump pipe location...
